Barry Cherin has been upped to senior press manager of movies, miniseries and specials at NBC Entertainment’s press and publicity.
He reports to Rebecca Marks, a director in that area. Cherin, who had previously worked for NBC as a freelance publicist, is responsible for managing print publicity campaigns for NBC longform programming and specials.
Virginia Mastroianni has assumed Cherin’s role as the department’s freelance publicist. She reports to Paul McGuire, vice president of primetime programs. In that position, Mastroianni will manage print publicity for primetime series scheduled for midseason launch.
She also is responsible for publicizing the network’s theatrical films, and assists with publicity for the “55th Annual Golden Globe Awards.” Mastroianni joins NBC after serving as staff unit publicist for KCET-TV in Los Angeles since 1995.
