Johnson had been senior vice president, labor relations, responsible for forming labor policy, negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, as well as oversight of dispute resolution.
He now takes on additional duties overseeing human relations, which include recruitment, employment, employee relations and international resources.
Johnson will report to Robert Moore, executive vice president of the Walt Disney Studios. He also will coordinate efforts with Bill Wilkinson, senior vice president of human resources for the Walt Disney Co.
Johnson started his career in human resources at Walt Disney World in 1977, and transferred to Walt Disney Studios in Burbank in 1981 as labor relations representative.
