NEW YORK — Adam Rogers has been promoted to senior vice president of U.S. distribution at Cinepix Film Properties, the Gotham-based independent film company that is Canadian-owned.
In his new position, Rogers will have responsibility for acquisitions, marketing and distribution for all films released through CFP in the U.S. Rogers joined the company in 1995 as a VP.
“In an extremely short period of time, Adam has helped CFP find its niche in a very competitive marketplace,” said Jeff Sackman, CFP’s exec veep. “We are optimistic about our continued growth and new opportunities.”
Rogers began his career in 1985 at Castle Hill Prods. in theatrical sales. Two years later, he joined Miramax Films and worked his way up to marketing VP before leaving to start his own distribution consulting firm in 1991.
During Rogers’ tenure at CFP, the distrib has scored at the box office with James Mangold’s “Heavy,” Greg Mottola’s “The Daytrippers” and Peter Greenaway’s “The Pillow Book.”
CFP’s upcoming releases include “Bandwagon,” Jonathan Nossiter’s award-winning “Sunday” and the recent acquisitions “Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist,” “Love and Death on Long Island” and “Junk Mail.”
