Kiefer Sutherland, Kelly McGillis and Robert Sean Leonard are set to star in the Green Communications action drama “Ground Control.”
Written by Mark Shepherd from an idea by Green president Talaat Captan, the picture focuses on the high-pressure world of civilian air traffic controllers.
Captan and Green senior VP Vince Ravine will produce the picture, which is scheduled for an early 1998 shoot. Green is handling worldwide distribution rights.
Sutherland, whose credits include “A Time to Kill,” “A Few Good Men” and “Flatliners,” most recently starred in “Truth or Consequences, N.M.,” which he also directed. He was repped in the deal by his manager, Suzan Bymell, and ICM’s Steve Dontenville.
McGillis, whose feature roles include “North,” “Top Gun” and “Witness,” was repped by Gersh’s Chuck James.
Leonard has appeared in “In the Gloaming,” “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Dead Poets Society.” He was repped by William Morris’ Ames Cushing.
Green’s most recent productions include the Francis Delia-helmed “The Time of Her Time,” an adaptation of Norman Mailer’s short story, and the Rob Lowe/Jim Belushi thriller “Living in Peril.”
