Nat’l Registry to unveil picks

WASHINGTON — Librarian of Congress James Billington is scheduled to announce today his picks for the next 25 films to be added to the National Film Registry.

The annual rite ensures the chosen films will be preserved as they were originally released in either the Library of Congress archives or in studio vaults. The additional 25 films to be added today will bring the total number of films in the registry to 225.
