H.K. Filmart unspools June 24

HONG KONG — The Hong Kong Intl. Film Market, or Filmart, has set June 24-26 for its second annual event.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the semi-governmental body that organizes the mart, is looking to broaden the event to attract TV buyers, especially from China. The council has 11 offices on the mainland that will recruit participants.

The first market, held just before the July 1 handover of Hong Kong from Britain, attracted an estimated 500 buyers from 33 countries and regions, including 60 from China.
