Disney gets more flak from boycotting pack

WASHINGTON — It appears that some Disney-boycotting conservative Christians can dish it out but they can’t take it.

According to the American Family Assn., reps of a dozen conservative groups unhappy with the Walt Disney Co. were snubbed Wednesday in Washington at a meeting planned to discuss the groups’ concerns. The orgs, which include the Southern Baptists and the Concerned Women for America, are boycotting Disney because they feel its products promote immorality.

The groups’ objections range from the length of Pocahontas’ animated skirt to Disney’s Gay and Lesbian Days at its theme parks.

The groups claim that Disney sent an official to the meeting “who knew nothing about the boycott issues.” Disney claims the groups just wanted to use the meeting as a hook for a news conference.
