MONTREAL — Longtime Malofilm Distribution president Yves Dion has ankled the Montreal-based company in the latest executive shuffle at the Canadian film distrib.
There have been a number of significant changes in the upper management ranks since Discreet Logic topper Richard Szalwinski purchased a controlling interest in the company in the spring of 1996.
Stephen Takacsy, Malofilm senior VP and chief financial officer, left the company last March and founder Rene Malo stepped down a month later from his position as chairman of the board. According to a Malofilm spokesman, Dion will not be replaced as president. Instead, his former duties will be split between Malofilm newcomers Andy Myers and Pierre Brousseau.
Myers was recently brought on as the Toronto-based vice president and managing director of Malofilm Distribution, while Brousseau was hired as the senior veep of marketing, acquisitions and distribution.
