Mackenzie Astin, last seen swooning in “In Love and War,” has inked to do the hustle with Kate Beckinsale in Whit Stillman’s “Last Days of Disco” for Castle Rock Entertainment, sources said Monday.
Pic, in the twentysomething vein of “Barcelona” and “Metropolitan,” is about a group of recent college grads who spend their time hanging out in a popular disco during the 1970s.
Astin, son of thesps John Astin and Patty Duke, will play Jimmy Steinway, a young Madison Avenue ad exec. David Conrad and Chloe Sezingy round out the cast.
Pic is slated to begin lensing on Saturday in New York.
Other credits for Astin include the upcoming “Dream for an Insomniac” and “Evening Star.”
Astin’s deal was brokered by William Morris Agency rep Scott Henderson and Steven Vail of Vanguard Talent Management.
