China’s largest plex opens in Shandong

SHANGHAI — China’s largest film complex recently opened within Shandong Province’s Zichuan Amusement Park.

The Zhonghua Film City has three theaters, including what claims to be the largest screen in the world at almost 100 feet wide and 21 meters (66 feet) tall.

The two other theaters are a 3-D motion ride and an outdoor water-fountain screen.

The new complex occupies more than 21,500 square feet.

Investment in the project was 30 million yuan ($4 million), with all of the technology sourced domestically.
