The newly formed Skyline Television Distribution is planning to launch a new half-hour reality strip about female cops called “LadyLaw” for fall 1997.
Skyline is headed by Scott Towle, former president of domestic distribution for King World Prods. The show will be co-produced with Arnold Shapiro Prods., In-Finn-Ity Prods., and Gary Bernstein of the newly created Swell Entertainment.
The show, targeted to early and late fringe slots, will focus on “extraordinary women in action in the field of law enforcement,” including cops, corrections officers, parole officers, border patrol, DEA, FBI, secret service, military, as well as judges and prosecutors. It will cover women on the beat as well as their personal stories.
Thirty-four to 36 episodes of “LadyLaw” will be sold for cash plus barter, with a 1-1/2-minute to 5-1/2-minute split.
