People magazine and the Permanent Charities of the Entertainment Industry will co-sponsor the post-award gala at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 22.People and Permanent Charities will endow the SAG Foundation with a $50,000 grant to support its programs such as assistance for performers in need, the AIDS Task Force and a school literacy program. Meanwhile, submissions for the awards more than doubled from last year to more than 2,000 entries. Nomination ballots will be mailed to a nominating committee of 4,200 active guild members on Dec. 30. Nominations will be announced on Jan. 23. The guild’s active membership of 86,000 will get ballots to determine the winners.
