A Martinez, who was a cast regular on NBC’s “L.A. Law” during its final two seasons (1992-94) as well as a recurring player on the NBC daytime soap “Santa Barbara,” is joining the cast of his third NBC series: the freshman drama “Profiler.”

Martinez will play Nick “Coop” Cooper, an intense bomb squad dismantler and love interest for Dr. Sam Waters (series star Ally Walker), whom the actor has already played in two previous “Profiler” episodes. His debut as a regular will come Feb. 15 when the series is relaunched with a two-hour movie.

As the series resumes, Martinez’s character will continue as an explosives and terrorism expert who is loaned out to the Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The romance with Walker’s character will continue.

The role in “Profiler” reunites Martinez, who won a Daytime Emmy for his work as Cruz Castillo on “Santa Barbara,” with Walker, who co-starred with him on the soap. Martinez also stars in HBO Original “The Cherokee Kid” that premieres Dec. 14.
