Producers Graham Ludlow and Sam Okun of Erratic Entertainment have set up “Amnesia of the Heart” at DreamWorks.
Pic is based on actress/recording artist Carole Davis’ original screenplay about a young woman who finally meets the true love of her life – who has been her husband in a former life – after encountering disastrous amorous relations with the contemporary counterparts of the men who caused his past-life demise.
The deal was brokered on Erratic’s and Davis’ behalf by Richard Arlook of the Gersh Agency.
Erratic recently completed its first film with Hallmark Entertainment, an adaptation of the Jack London novel “Call of the Wild” starring Rutger Hauer, with Richard Dreyfuss narrating. Ludlow adapted the script.
Erratic recently inked a deal to produce “Rich Deceiver,” a novel by British author Gillian White, with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films for a Disney pic.
Other projects the two-year-old indie company has in development include “Begin the Beguine,” a coming-of-age love story written by Raymond De Felitta (“Cafe Society”) with Elijah Wood (“Flipper”) and Anna Paquin (“The Piano”) attached to star.
For TV, Erratic will produce “Bicycle on the Beach,” an adaptation of the novel by Peter Viertel (“White Hunter, Black Heart”) with John Davis exec producing.
Finally, Erratic has an “Unzipped”-like docudrama chronicling the life of Mr. Blackwell from his autobiography, “From Rags to Bitches.” Barry Shils (“Wigstock”) is attached to direct.
