‘Today’ cooks morning triumph across the griddle

“Today” took an outright household and demographic win in Nielsen daytime and fringe ratings for the June 12-16 week, while “Late Show With David Letterman,” CBS’ daytime lineup and the Fox Children’s Network also posted routine victories in their dayparts.

The NBC breakfastcast averaged a 4.3 rating, 20 share to top “Good Morning America” (4.1/19) in households as well as total viewers and the adults 18-49 and 25-54 demographics, holding a 1.8-1.5-rating edge by the younger standard.

“Late Show” (4.9/15) was first in latenight, topping “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (3.8/12), which was delayed two nights (one of them Thursday) due to golf highlights and had its average excluded a third due to the last game of the NBA Finals.
