LOUDI NIJHOFF

Loudi Nijhoff, a Dutch stage actress who achieved fame for her role in a children’s television show, died Aug. 1 in Amsterdam. She was 94.

Although Nijhoff played many famous theater roles, it was her part in the early 1970s children’s television show “Can You Tell Me the Way to Hamelen Sir?” that made her familiar to a generation of Dutch children.

Nijhoffs family founded a publishing house, and her nephew was the Dutch poet Martin Nijhoff.
