With two new on board, the slate’s take jumped during Week 37 (Feb. 6-12). Receipts totaled $6,190,973, a 5.9% hike. Attendance for the 19 shows totaled 145,348, a 12.4% improvement.

Almost every show gained in receipts: “Beauty and the Beast” led the pack with $648,339, an $80,463 rise over its previous week. Other gainers included “Cats,” “Crazy for You” and “Blood Brothers.”

“Show Boat” lost a bit of steam with a $41,864 drop; other shows that fell included “Grease,” “Sunset Boulevard” and “Miss Saigon.” “Love! Valour! Compassion!,” still in previews at the Walter Kerr Theater, was heavy with nonpaying crix.

Two plays started previews: Lincoln Center Theater’s “The Heiress,” set to open March 9, played four at the Cort Theater and “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” which had a long tryout tour, played five and will open March 2 at the Virginia Theater.

Receipts for the musicals totaled $5,410,596,87% of the Broadway total, with paid attendance of 116,391 at 78.5% of musical capacity. Plays tallied $780,377,13% of the total, with attendance of 28,957 at 79.3% of play capacity.

Average ticket prices were $42.59 for all shows, $46.48 for musicals and $26.94 for plays.
