Guild, Fox In Distrib’n Pact

Twentieth Century Fox and Guild Entertainment have entered a new alliance for theatrical and video distribution in the United Kingdom.

Fox will take over booking and administrative services for theatrical releases from Guild, which will maintain its own separate operation responsible for release decisions, marketing and acquisitions.

The two companies will set up a video-rental joint venture, and Fox will service the distribution of Guild’s future sell-through releases.

The deal expands the relationship between the owners of the two companies, News Intl. and French conglomerate Chargeurs, which are both shareholders in British Sky Broadcasting and have a video joint venture in France.
