GOOD MORNING: Universal’s main studio lot is blueprinted for a major change. “Jurassic Park” is coming — the real one. Or at least a “Jurassic Park” Universal Studios Hollywood tour attraction, which will replace many of the lot’s historic buildings, some built as far back as 1932. The sites to be razed include the wardrobe, makeup and fire department buildings, a long line of bungalows and star dressing rooms and the parking lot adjoining. The inhabitants are being notified of their offices’ upcoming demolition (by T-Rex’s and Velociraptors?) and plans for their relocation … To further publicize U Tour’s 30th anni, a three-day multi-market radio and TV event (not open to the public) will be held on the hill July 27-29, with top market stations, repping an audience of more than 50 million, interviewing celebs — who can plug anything — on a round-the-clock (almost) sked … On a non-commercial note, the Universal backlot will again be the site for a giant charity event: the annual Wolfgang Puck Foundation’s American Wine & Food Festival to benefit a great charity, Meals-on-Wheels, this year chaired by Pam (Mrs. Tom) Korman, Sept. 24 … As of our deadline, there still is no clearance for ABC to carry in the U.S. Sunday’s pre-game World Cup final festivities at the Rose Bowl. (Maybe your dish can pick it up from Mexico?) Whitney Houston, recovering from her miscarriage, will star, singing six tunes including “I Will Always Love You.” And Kenny G plays the National Anthem, as reported, but Darryl Hall and the Sounds of Blackness will not be performing.
(They were skedded to sing the World Cup theme, “Glory Land” during Cup presentation to the winning team.) PRESIDENTS REAGAN AND BUSH, Vice President Al Gore and Mayor Riordan with Nancy Daly will be in the audience of the “Three Tenors” concert Saturday at Dodger Stadium. On his arrival in L.A., Placido Domingo headed for the Soccerfest at the Convention Center. He’s a big fan. The tenors open the second half of their concert with Paul Anka’s “My Way.” And Lalo Schifrin arranged a “Hollywood medley” for ’em to sing as well … Itzhak Perlman hosts the Tenors’ concert seen on PBS the next day, Sunday.
