GOOD MORNING: Whoopi wasn’t the only one receiving congrats on her return Tuesday to the Tucson set of “Boys on the Side.” Co-star Drew Barrymore got posies from the troupe as she returned from — a three-day honeymoon. She and Jeremy Thomas were married last Saturday. “Thank God he’s not an actor,” Barrymore told me, “he’s a working man!” (He owns two bars.) It’s a first marriage for both, she’s 19, he’s 31 and they’d been seeing each other for “a couple of months.” The wedding party was very small — only five, she said. And her mother Ildiko wasn’t one of them. They’re still estranged, but the young Barrymore is hopeful they will work out things … Drew has four more weeks to shoot in “Boys” with Whoopi and Mary-Louise Parker. But they’ve completed a brutal beating scene with Billy Wirth. “It took a week to shoot 10 pages,” she gasped. In the yarn, as noted earlier, Goldberg’s gay, Mary-Louise is HIV-positive and Drew gives birth to a black baby. Barrymore will have two weeks off (for a honeymoon) after “Boys” to start her role of a manic-depressive schizophrenic in Touchstone’s “Mad Love.””It’s an actor’s dream — I’m going to take it to the sky”… The largest — yet warmest — wedding ever seen in these parts was held last Saturday at Marvin and Barbara Davis’ home, where daughter Nancy married Kenneth David Rickel. Despite the grandeur — two tents, one for the wedding, the other for dinner-dancing-entertainment, 34 bridesmaids and groomsmen, 400 guests dining on food from Wolfgang Puck, singing by Natalie Cole and Dan Aykroyd, joking by Don Rickles — the star of the night was the Davis family: The bride (in a gorgeous, long-trained, white gown) and her groom were toasted by her 11-year-old son Alexander and 9-year-old son Jason. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house (tent) … And another Davis wedding’s upcoming, June 11 when Gregg D. and Elena Stratheros will marry — the ceremony may match the above — Barbara loves family gatherings … Meanwhile, over at the Hotel Nikko on the 18th Lydia and Charlton Heston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with 224 black-tied friends and family including their children Fraser and Holly and grandson Jack. At each place setting was a booklet , “Pursuing Lydia,” a chapter from Heston’s upcoming autobiog. In it Chuck tells of their wedding — in Greensboro, N.C., as he was about to go overseas in the Army Air Corps. He gave Lydia a $ 12 wedding ring. For their anniversary he embellished her engagement ring with diamonds.

We talked last week and he wants to do all he can to bring the Grammys back.” The decision will be reached next month when the board of NARAS hies to Honolulu … Steven Spielberg joins Gov. Pete Wilson April 11 to announce expanding free ayem showings of “Schindler’s List” to senior high schoolers, made possible via Universal, theater owners and the California Department of Education. On Oscar day, a screening was held in Harlem’s Apollo theater for Rice High school of the Congregation of Christian Brothers. Principal the Rev. J.W. Casey noted he’d never seen his students so rapt at attention for such a long period of time.

She worked on the editing with Gary Smith and Dwight Hemion and Barbra has yet to decide whether to tape the upcoming trek for eventual fee/free (?) vidviewing … As for new singers on the block: Cynthia Sikes made her debut at the Gardenia last weekend surrounded by friends — applause led by, of course , husband Bud Yorkin.
