Mary Murphy was appointed director of worldwide promotions at Warner Bros. Murphy, formerly WB’s manager of domestic promotions, joined the Burbank studio in 1990.
Prior to that, Murphy worked in account management in the New York office of Young & Rubicam Advertising. In her new job, Murphy will develop and supervise promotions with major corporations and media companies as well as coordinating film and music marketing tie-ins.
Warner Music Group has named Paul J. Vidich senior veep of strategic planning and business development. Vidich, who joined Warner in 1991 as VP of acquisitions and business development, will be involved in the company’s expanding interests in multimedia, cable TV and direct marketing.
Live Home Video has named Gina Gilardi executive creative director. She will oversee the art department and the creation of collateral materials for the marketing and promotion of homevideo releases. Gilardi was director of marketing for Epic Prods.
Debbie Slavkin has joined Unapix Entertainment as VP of its new international educational division. Unapix will distribute at Mip-TV the rights to some 300 educational programs previously handled by Slavkin’s international distribution company.
Helene Steel has been upped to veep of photography for New Line Cinema. Formerly director of photography , she will oversee operation of the photo department and its staff, coordinating all promotional and corporate shoots.
Sony Music has upped Bill Beatty to VP of production management, giving him responsibility for artist showcases, corporate presentations, industry conventions and meetings. He had been director of special projects for the label.
Disney Development Co. named Todd Mansfield executive veepee, a new post. Mansfield was senior VP in charge of Disney’s real estate developments in Florida.
