Robert M. Cheren, the former president of marketing and distribution for Orion Pictures, has been retained as executive consultant for distribution and marketing by Interfilm Technologies, an interactive film company. Cheren, who will be based in Los Angeles, will focus on licensing theaters for the exhibition of Interfilm’s pix and installation of their exhibition systems.

From 1987 to 1990, Cheren was president of marketing and distribution for New World Entertainment.

Carlos Perez has been upped to veep of administration for Castle Rock Entertainment. Formerly director of administration, Perez will continue to oversee the company’s physical operations.

Christopher Weis has been named director of Southwest sales for Rysher Entertainment. He was Northeast division manager for Bohbot Entertainment.

Columbia TriStar Home Video upped a trio to VP, sales: Jeff Rabinovitz, John Reina and Ralph Walin. Rabinovitz and Walin will oversee all sales activities for rental product, while Reina focuses on sell-through titles developing sales strategies.
