Matthew Broderick will make his directorial debut with the biopic “Infinity,” which the thesp also penned and will topline.
The pic, which is skedded to shoot in July, will be made by First Look Pictures, the packaging and development arm of Overseas Filmgroup.
Currently without a domestic or overseas distrib deal, Overseas Filmgroup will shop “Infinity” in foreign territories.
Based on the life and times of the late nuclear scientist and prolific author Richard Feynman, “Infinity” is about the early years of the outspoken, eclectic Nobel Prize winner, who kept several federal agencies on their toes by playing pranks on the system throughout his career.
It is also the story of the years Feynman spent working on the atomic bomb and courting his childhood sweetheart, torn between the two as the Manhattan Project was accelerated dramatically during World War II.
Broderick’s acting credits include “Glory,””Biloxi Blues” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” He recently completed Alan Parker’s “The Road to Wellville,” starring Anthony Hopkins, John Cusack and Dana Carvey.
Neo Motion Pictures and First Look will co-produce “Infinity.”
