After a five-year partnership, Craig Baumgarten and Gary Adelson are splitting as partners in Adelson-Baumgarten Prods. and Adelson-Baumgarten Management, it was announced Thursday.
The announcement confirms rumors of a split that have circulated in Hollywood for several weeks.
Adelson-Baumgarten represents such clients as “Northern Exposure” and “8 Seconds” star CynthiaGeary and Kate Jackson. Negotiated by the law firm Bloom Dekom, Hergott and Cook, the severance agreement takes place immediately.
However, Adelson and Baumgarten will continue to work as producers on the upcoming Hollywood Pictures project “Beat the Eagle,” Warner Bros.’ “Elementary” and Universal Pictures’ “Third Grade.”
The split comes just as Adelson-Baumgarten were positioned to have a big year in the production ranks. They were producers of the current Walt Disney Pictures release “Blank Check,” which has grossed $ 11 million to date, and are attached as executive producers of producer Mike Lobell and director Andrew Bergman’s “Cop Tips Waitress $ 2 Million,” which stacks up as a TriStar summer release.
While none of the principals could be reached for comment, speculation had Adelson seguing into what was described as a high-tech cable venture.
