Dan Aykroyd has been inked to star in a new Savoy Pictures Entertainment flick, “Getting Away With Murder,” the first drama for the former “Saturday Night Live” cutup since his Oscar-nominated perf as Boolie Werthan in “Driving Miss Daisy.”
“Murder” is from a script by Harvey Miller, who also will direct, sources said Thursday.
Miller previously directed the feature film “Bad Medicine,” as well as such television shows as “The Tracey Ullman Show” and “Taxi.”
Frank Price’s Price Entertainment and Penny Marshall’s Parkway Prods. will exec produce.
No other cast has been set. The film will begin shooting in Toronto in May.
Aykroyd, who is currently co-starring in “My Girl 2,” and whose recent credits include “Chaplin” and “Sneakers,” will play an ethics professor enthralled with the story of an escaped criminal.
