Rysher TPE will try to infuse some additional spark in its first-run roster with “Thunder in Paradise,” a new firstrun action hour aimed to premiere in March 1994 starring Hulk Hogan, Chris Lemmon and model-actress Carol Alt.

Created and produced by Berk Schwartz Bonann Entertainment Prods., the team behind the syndicated series “Baywatch,” the show will feature Hogan, Lemmon and Alt aboard a specially designed superboat, originally designed for the military but “now a high-tech, wave-busting boat-for-hire.”

Joins action series lineup

The project will join Rysher’s one-hour weekly action series “Highlander: The Series” and the recently announced “Robocop: The Series.” Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Hogan will serve as exec producers on the latest show.

Hogan, well-traveled in syndication thanks to his wrestling antics, has also done a number of features and CBS recently had a deal for a internationally co-produced pilot starring Hogan that failed to yield a series. Lemmon’s credits include the Fox Broadcasting Co. comedy “Duet” and its spin-off “Open House.”

The show, which will lense in South Florida, adds to an increasingly crowded market for firstrun action series that includes Paramount’s two “Star Trek” series as well as “The Untouchables,” Warner Bros.’ Prime Time Entertainment Network (which will add a second regular night), “Baywatch,””Renegade” and “Highlander.”
