Fresh off her Emmy-nominated role in “Brooklyn Bridge,” Marion Ross has joined the cast of NBC’s “Cafe Americain”– the new Lorimar TV sitcom starring Valerie Bertinelli.
Ross will play the American owner of a Parisian cafe who hires the Bertinelli character as a waitress, replacing Lilah Kaye, who played the role in the pilot.
Ross spent 10 seasons on “Happy Days,” from 1974-84, before starring the last two years as the grandmother on CBS’ “Bridge,” which will burn off unaired episodes during the summer. “Cafe Americain” is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Saturdays in the fall, the same time period where “Bridge” aired last September.
Other Ross credits include the TV movies “Skyward” and “The Burning” as well as the features “Operation Petticoat” and “Airport.””Cafe Americain” is exec produced by Peter Noah.
