Eye web to preem Friday sked Oct. 22

CBS has confirmed the replacement of “Hearts Afire” with “Bob” in its Friday lineup, as reported (Daily Variety, Aug. 6), and will premiere its 9-11 p.m. Friday shows on Oct. 22, opposite NBC’s intro of its “NBC Friday Night Mystery.”

In addition to “Good Advice,””Bob” and “Picket Fences,” the new Wednesday shows “The Nanny” and “Good Advice” will also be held until after the baseball playoffs in October.

Two fall series, “The Trouble With Larry” and “Angel Falls,” will premiere early — on Aug. 25 and 26, respectively — while the web’s 14 other new and returning shows will roll out from Sept. 14-26, as noted (Daily Variety, July 30 ).

Both NBC and Fox Broadcasting Co. have already announced their premiere dates , with the season to begin Sept. 20.

ABC hasn’t officially set its rollout roster but will hold the Saturday shows “George,””Where I Live” and “The Paula Poundstone Show” until Oct. 30, with “NYPD Blue” to premiere Sept. 21 and the new season of “Monday Night Football” starting with regular-season games Sept. 6. All four services are holding back some series because of the roughly three dozen new shows scheduled for the fall.
