Richard Weinstein has been named executive director of the Electronic Media Ratings Council, an organization that oversees the current media measurement systems. He replaces Mel Goldberg, who recently retired.
Prior to joining the EMRC, Weinstein was VP of corporate planning at Katz Communications.
“As the new executive director of the EMRC, Dick brings with him a breadth of experience, plus a wealth of ideas for growing the organization to a more prominent position in maintaining the high technical standards of research companies serving the entire electronic media industry,” said Thomas McClendon, chairman of the board, in making the announcement.
The EMRC is an independent organization with the mission to oversee and evaluate television measurement systems, to assure that the process is accurate and fair.
