Streeter S. Stuart

Former WBZ TV and radio newsman Streeter S. Stuart, who reported on the sinking of the Andrea Doria, the search for the Boston Strangler and the Brink’s robbery, died June 27 of cancer.

He was 85.

In the late 1940s, Stuart made live broadcasts in New England as the announcer and narrator of “Sunday at 4:30” from the Boston Opera House.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, a daughter, two half-sisters and a half-brother.
