Nephi Jay Wimmer, 33, Native American stage and TV actor, died July 26 in New York of AIDS.Wimmer was part of the original Broadway companies of “Miss Saigon” and “Chu Chem.” Other theater credits include regional productions of “Carnival,””Evita” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” For television, he served as host of ABC’s “Family Fun Fair” and the gameshow “Finders, Keepers.” He also performed with Osmond Prods. in Utah. Wimmer was active in fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Actors’ Fund of America. His companion was Thomas J. O’Leary. Also survived by his parents, Myra and Nob; sisters, Tewa and Kim; and his brothers, Derald, Cota and Copper.
