Garry Shelley, 54, longtime TV writer in Australia, died July 19 in Sydney of a heart attack.

Shelley joined the Sydney Morning Herald as a TV writer in 1965 and stayed for 17 years.

In 1982 he moved to TV Week, Australia’s main TV gossip/info magazine, where he worked until his death.

Survived by his mother and a brother.
