Paul Wachter has joined new York securities firm Wertheim Schroder & Co. as managing director of West Coast investing banking. Wachter will be heading up Wertheim’s lodging and gaming group.

He will report to Wertheim chairman and CEO, James Harmon. Wachter was formerly at Kidder Peabody, where he was managing director and head of the Los Angeles office. Prior to that, he was at Bear Stearns & Co., specializing in entertainment and media.

George Segues has been named vice president of operations at Deluxe Labs. Segues was formerly VP and assistant manager at Metrocolor, which was a part of MGM. He was also a consultant at Eastman Kodak. Segues will report to Gary Borton, Deluxe’s executive VP for lab operations.

Ed McCauley is taking over West Coast operations as vice president of National Film Services in a new Hollywood office. McCauley will report to Mark Frysztacki, president of NFS, a film distribution company.

Marvel Entertainment announced that National Basketball Assn. business development executive William Jemas Jr. has been named to run a new entertainment division that will develop and market new sports and entertainment products for Marvel’s Fleer Corp. trading card subsidiary. Jemas’ title will be VP of entertainment and business development of Fleer.

Riki Calosso has been promoted to veepee of disbursement for Sony Pictures Entertainment, bumping her up a notch from her director’s role. Calosso will oversee all of the disbursement service activities including accounts payable, purchase order administration and the cashier function. Her promotion was announced by SPE senior veepee of finance and studio operations Frank Kohler.
