Ellis St. Joseph, 82, award-winning playwright and former Warner Bros. staff writer, died Aug. 21 in Beverly Hills of cancer.St. Joseph accumulated more than 50 WGA credits during a career that spanned nearly six decades. He is best known for his contributions to television on such sci-fi programs as “The Outer Limits” and the short-lived CBS series “Logan’s Run.” He also wrote for Playhouse 90, Theater Guild of the Air, Matinee Theater, Bob Hope’s Chrysler Theater and “The Lloyd Bridges Show.” Film credits include “Flesh and Fantasy” and “Scandal in Paris.” St. Joseph created the Adult Education Drama Dept. at NYU and lectured at Columbia U. A memorial service is scheduled for Sept. 26.
