Edward Roberts

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Edward Roberts, 57, a member of the 1960s-era singing group Ruby and the Romantics, died Aug. 10 of cancer.

Roberts left Akron in 1963 for New York City with a local singing group known as the Supremes. The group was joined by another Akron native, Ruby Nash, to form Ruby and the Romantics.

Ruby and the Romantics recorded such ’60s hits as “Our Day Will Come,””Hey There Lonely Boy” and “My Summer Love.”
