Cecil Cox, who only two weeks ago was made an agent at Intl. Creative Management, has ankled the company and is heading for the William Morris Agency.
Cox, who moves to the Morris office July 12, will become part of the motion picture talent team headed up by senior VP Brian Gersh.
Considered one of ICM’s rising stars, Cox credited WMA’s worldwide head of motion pictures, Arnold Rifkin, with influencing his decision to make the move.
“The primary determinant was Arnold Rifkin,” Cox said Thursday. “He took an active role in bringing me over. I was impressed by the fact that this man works on so many levels.”
A graduate of Harvard, Cox was drafted by the Detroit Lions football team before deciding on a career in Hollywood. He was with ICM for the past several years, getting his start in the company’s mailroom training program. Prior to being named an ICM agent, he assisted vice chairman Guy McElwaine.
