Frank Sinatra will receive the Tower of Achievement Award, a new nod developed by Capitol Records to recognize the singer’s contributions to the label.

Sinatra will be given the award by Charles Koppelman, chairman/CEO of EMI Records, Capitol’s parent, during Nov. 4 ceremonies in Studio A at the label’s Vine Street headquarters.

The ceremony honors Sinatra’s accomplishments and heralds the arrival of “Duets,” the new album featuring duets with such names as Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Anita Baker, Liza Minnelli and Kenny G. The disc will hit stores Tuesday.

Capitol execs say the award will be used to honor other artists who have contributed significantly to the label.
