NBC will air the first of three hour interview specials, “The Macho Men of the Movies With David Sheehan,” at 8 p.m. Aug. 27. Exec produced by Sheehan for NBC Prods., the hour will profile Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.
Sheehan and fellow KNBC-TV staffer Fred Roggin are both doing primetime specials for the network.
Jean Simmons has joined the cast of CBS’ “Angel Falls.” The Konigsberg/Sanitsky Co. serial preems Aug. 26 in its 10 p.m. Thursday slot.
Dick Clark Prods., which recently produced the Jim Thorpe Pro Sports Awards, now has a starting time for “The 1993 American Great 18 Golf Championship,” to be televised by ABC Sports as two weekend specials Oct. 17 and 24. Clark and Arthur Smith will exec produce and Chrysler sponsors, with four prominent golfers playing 18 holes at well-known courses around the U.S.
NBC confirmed that John Forsythe will take over as host of “I Witness Video” as part of an exclusive NBC Entertainment pact that includes a movie commitment and development of another series. Forsythe recently starred in the NBC sitcom “The Powers That Be.” Meanwhile, production of the video show has shifted from NBC News to L.A. station KNBC-TV, under the aegis of NBC Entertainment.
