‘Jeffrey’ set for Westwood run

Paul Rudnick’s comedy “Jeffrey” will open an eight-week run Sept. 29 at the Westwood Playhouse, with Christopher Ashley directing the original New York cast.

Produced in L.A. by Timothy and Terri Childs and Herbert Goldsmith, the production will star Bryan Batt, Harriet Harris, Edward Hibbert, John Michael Higgins, Patrick Kerr, Richard Poe and Scott Whitehurst.

The play is about looking for love in an age of fear as a Gotham actor-waiter becomes celibate out of a fear of AIDS, then meets a bartender who seems to be the man of his dreams.
