Tickets for two Barbra Streisand concerts at Vegas’ new MGM Grand Hotel were snapped up within hours of going on sale. Ticket prices for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day concerts, at the 15,200-seat MGM Grand Garden, range from $ 50 to $ 1,000.

Union officials have urged Streisand to cancel her shows, saying she should back Culinary Local 226 in its efforts to organize hotel workers. The unions have vowed to picket and wage a campaign to get Streisand to change her mind.
