Hilarie Roope has been named vice president of Savoy Pictures’ new post-production department.
“As Savoy is gearing up to put out a full slate of 20 films a year, we are thrilled to have someone with Hilarie’s wealth of experience supervising our post-production,” said Savoy prexy Alan Greisman in a prepared statement.
In addition, the company has hired Steve Price as director of post-production quality control.
Roope will work with producers and filmmakers regarding delivery of all physical elements for distribution. Price will handle all technical aspects relating to Savoy’s releases.
Most recently Roope served as post-production supervisor on “Mother’s Boys, “”A Life in the Theater,””Sugar Hill” and “Benefit of the Doubt.” Prior to that, she was director of post-production for Sovereign Pictures, working on “The Commitments,””Cinema Paradiso,””Reversal of Fortune,””Hamlet” and “My Left Foot.”
Price worked with Columbia Pictures for 10 years, where he was an assistant film editor and director of video marketing. Most recently he was veepee and general manager of Video Research Corp.
Upcoming releases on Savoy’s slate are “Lightning Jack,” starring Paul Hogan; John Waters’ “Serial Mom”; “Prison Colony,” starring Ray Liotta and “Exit to Eden,” the new Garry Marshall film.
