Jim Henson Prods. upped three key production exex Tuesday, naming Patricia Nugent to director of production, David Gumpel to director of studio operations and Peter Coogan to director of production.

Nugent and Gumpel will continue to work with Gotham-basedveep of production Peter van Roden.

Coogan will remain in London under U.K. managing director Duncan Kenworthy and senior production VP Martin Baker.

Nugent, who joined prexy and CEO Brian Henson’s Hollywood-based company in 1987, will be the liaison between Jim Henson Prods. and Children’s Television Network on the “Sesame Street” TV series.

Recently, Nugent was associate producer on “CityKids,” the Emmy Award-winning ABC show, a new segment currently in preproduction in the Big Apple. She’s also been involved with Jim Henson’s Dog City, a puppet/animation product.

Gumpel will head the New Yorkproduction and post-production facilities, as well as edit and direct. He joined the outfit in 1982, working on shows such as “Down at Fraggle Rock,””The Jim Henson Hour” and “The Song of the Cloud Forest.” In 1991, Gumpel won an Emmy for editing “The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson” special.

Coogan, who came aboard in 1983, will shepherd the company’snew TV series, “The Secret Life of Toys,” currently in production in Germany for a 1994 release on BBC small screens in the U.K. He has previously worked as animatronic production supervisor at the Disney/MGM Studios Theme Park Theater in Orlando, Fla.
