AFMA taps Wolf biz development VP

HOLLYWOOD — The American Film Marketing Assn. has named Jonathan Wolf senior veepee of business development and administration.

The new position is the first addition to the AFMA executive ranks in more than a decade.

The trade group represents 110 independent movie companies, including the Samuel Goldwyn Co., New Line Cinema Corp. and Carolco Pictures.

Reporting to AFMA prexy Jonas Rosenfield, Wolf becomes one of three AFMA officials responsible for the day-to-day operations of the trade group. The others are Rosenfield and AFMA exec VP Tim Kittleson.

Wolf’s mandate will include identifying revenue sources and supervising administration.

As a result of Wolf’s appointment, Kittleson’s job at AFMA will narrow in focus.

Previously responsible for daily operations and international issues, Kittleson will now focus on developing international policies for AFMA.

Wolf was president and chief operating officer of Studio Three Film Corp., which produced “Rich Girl” and “Popcorn” before filing for bankruptcy in 1991.

He also spent four years as VP/chief financial officer at New World Intl. and six years in various exec capacities at CBS Inc.
