KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The second annual Intl. Gay and Lesbian Film and Video Festival runs here July 9-25 with showings of more than 55 feature films and short subjects.
The festival is based at the Fine Arts 2 Theater, an arthouse in suburban Mission, Kan., owned by Brian and Ben Mossman, organizers of the festival.
A special showing of “Claire of the Moon” will be held at their Englewood Theater on the east side of Kansas City, Mo., with personal appearances by filmmaker Nicole Conn and actress Faith McDevitt, Maggie in the film. A showing (at the Fine Arts) of “Silverlake Life; the View from Here,” winner of the grand jury award at the Sundance Film Festival will be a benefit for the Good Samaritan Project and the American Foundation for AIDS Research. The schedule also includes the Japanese “Okoge,” the Spanish “Extramuros” and short videos of Sadie Benning.
