Ian Bradley has been appointed president of drama at Grundy Worldwide, effective July 1.

Reg Watson, who has been in charge of serial drama, will continue at Grundy in the new position of special consultant, serial drama.

Bradley will oversee all global drama development and production activities of the company, which maintains 16 wholly owned and operated production entities in key territories through the world.

Grundy has continuing drama productions in Australia, New Zealand, Holland and Germany as well as development deals (and in some cases pilots) in the U.K., South America, Germany and Australia.

Watson — a creator, writer and producer — has been the central figure in the extraordinary success of Grundy serial drama over the last 20 years. Some months ago, Watson indicated to the Grundy board of directors his desire to be relieved of day-to-day operating responsibilities to allow him more time to write. He will continue to create and develop new series.

He has been responsible for many of Grundy’s better-known programs including “Young Doctors” and “Dangerous Women.”
