New Line Cinema has appointed Scott Hyneryager assistant division manager for the company’s distribution central division. He will be based in New Line’s Chicago office. Before joining New Line, he was a booker and salesman in Paramount Pictures’ Milwaukee and Kansas City branch offices for 10 years. He will report to Steven Friedlander, VP and central division manager.
William Lockard has been upped to VP of legal affairs and senior intellectual property counsel for Fox Inc. Since joining the company in 1989, Lockard has served as counsel and director of copyright trademark.
Barbara Zaneri, who joined KCAL as a programming coordinator in March 1990, has been named manager of programming administration and operations for KCAL-TV. Her new duties will be expanded to encompass scheduling, acquisitions, research and development.
TV vet Leo Perez has been named manager of marketing and client development for KCBS-TV. Perez, who assumed the newly created post in September, will be responsible for managing business development, creating special station projects and pre-selling major sports and special sales packages. He previously served as veepee of business development for International Creative Entertainment.
R-Tek Corp. has appointed Gordon O’Keefe executive VP and chief financial officer. The company said O’Keefe replaces Harold Kives, who has retired as treasurer and chief financial officer. Kives, a co-founder of the company, said he was leaving to pursue other interests.
Beverly White has been named a general assignment reporter for KNBC-TV. She most recently served in the same capacity for WTVJ, the NBC O&O in Miami.
Samuel L. Yates has been named to the new post of vice president of finance at Viewer’s Choice, succeeding Harvey Watkins, who left the pay-per-view company. Yates was formerly the chief financial officer for Riordan Publishing Corp. in New York.
Janet Cutler has been named sales manager of Blair TV’s Los Angeles Kings account. She previously served as an account exec in the company’s L.A. office for a decade. Also, Nancy Oboyski and Scott John Roskowski have been appointed account exex for Blair Television’s New York Islanders account. Oboyski joins Blair from Group W TV, where she was an account exec. Roskowski last served an internship with the Chamber of Commerce in Atlantic County.
Barr Films has promoted Joanna Camack to director of marketing from manager of sales and marketing.
Vickie Barber has joined Macrovision as regional anticopy sales manager, for western states and Texas. Barber had been VP sales at Media Home Entertainment, and previously held sales and marketing posts at Virgin Vision and Embassy Home Entertainment. Macrovision also promoted Sandra Dodge to eastern region sales rep.
The Entertainment Industries Council has expanded president Brian Dyak’s responsibilities and given him the additional title of chief executive officer. Dyak co-founded EIC ten years ago. He’ll oversee the group’s expansion in advocacy, promoting health and human services, and fighting drug and alcohol abuse.
