Darrell Barnett, 41, a dancer, died Jan. 16 in New York of liver cancer.
Barnett moved to New York to take a full scholarship at the Martha Graham School. He went on to perform with the modern dance troupes of Erick Hawkins, Pearl Lang and Yuriko.
He performed with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and was a principal dancer from 1972 to 1974 with the Harkness Ballet. He later joined the Joffrey Ballet.
In 1983 and 1986, he presented his own works at the Riverside Dance Festival.
Survived by his parents and brother.
