GAYLE FRASER-BAIGELMAN has been named director of production and creative affairs for Tribeca Prods., the Robert De Niro outfit that has a first-look deal with Tri-Star Pictures. Most recently, she was finance manager at Buena Vista Visual Effects.

MAUREEN DONLEY, a onetime live theater stage manager, who teed off at Disney as associate producer on “The Little Mermaid,” has been upped to v. p., feature animation for Walt Disney Pictures.

Indie producer CHRIS MELEDANDRI has been tapped president of Steel Pictures, the Disney-based company formed last April by former Columbia Pictures prexy Dawn Steel. The appointment of Meledandri, who has dissolved his 3 1/2-year partnership with Mark R. Gordon to assume the new post, rounds out Steel’s creative team, which includes veepees Keith Davis and Romi Straussman.

KATHIE BERLIN has joined MGM/Pathe as senior v. p., east coast production/marketing. She is past president and entertainment division head of the New York office of Rogers & Cowan, and since 1985 has been a partner in Hart, Thomas & Berlin Prods.

PHIL SHIMMIN has been promoted to prez/chief operating officer of Consolidated Amusement, Hawaiian subsid of Los Angeles-based Pacific Theaters. A veteran of 29 years with Pacific, Shimmin’s previous title was v. p.-general manager of Consolidated.
