CEMA Hits Campaign Trail

CEMA Distribution has launched an extensive marketing campaign to promote 13 developing artists from eight member labels.

Push entails retailer discounts, in-store audio and video compilations and 200,000 sampler cassettes for consumers.

Through Feb. 22, CEMA is offering a 15% discount on titles by such artists as Maggie’s Dream, Alias and Elisa Fiorillo.

Video compilations of the artists will be serviced to 2,000 locations around the country; while 200,000 sampler cassettes featuring one song from each of the artists – entitled “Hot Music For Cool Nights” – will be given away free to consumers in 500 stores.

CEMA will track sales in participating stores, and the cassettes will include an 800-number for consumer feedback. Listening parties, contests and other promotional efforts are also in the works.
