Warner Bros. has purchased, for Joel Silver to produce, a spec script titled “Face Off.” The futuristic action thriller was written by Mike Werb and Michael Colleary.

Warners paid about $105,000 up front for the screenplay in a deal that could ultimately see the writers receive more than $250,000 with all rewrites, bonuses and options included. Silver, who has an overall deal at Warners, will get his usual producer’s fee of $750,000 to $1 million. Werb has scripted several action films for Cannon as well as the gangster script “Machine Gun Kelly,” slated to go into production at Columbia. While Colleary has no produced feature credits, he has a couple of projects in development at MGM/Pathe.
